Alejandra Bello, postdoctoral researcher at the Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá and Atanacia Gamboa, Community Leader and Activist, Ladrilleros, Colombia are working together in this project to discover and discuss the ethical issues that surround collaborative action research between the university and the community group, Asociación de mujeres Ébano. They explore the use of Intervention Bioethics and Participatory Action Research as useful strategies for establishing ethical frameworks to support academy-based research to make fair alliances with communities to develop projects that address the interests of the community, the researcher, and the institutions in whose framework the research was carried out.
