Workplace Community

Dan conducted his action research with his working team of 14 individuals in the context of  a large (8,000 employees) multi-national software corporation. His role was that of an instructional designer on a learning and development team that supports multiple business units within the corporation. In this role he noted a lack of transparent, social, collaborative methods to build and share knowledge. His goal was to increase knowledge building and sharing processes overlap using social learning technologies to mediate interaction and nurture the growth of a community of practice among people who design and deliver learning programs.
