Action Research Resources

Action research is an iterative process that converges towards a better understanding of what happens as a result of actions taken. Because practices involve other people, action research is participatory, often highly collaborative, and employs both quantitative and qualitative methods.
​
Graduate programs across the country are supporting students in action research. Many work settings have embraced action research as a collaborative form of organizational learning and professional development. The resources listed here can help both students and professionals as they engage in these thoughtful strategies to learn from practice.
Action Research Tutorials
​
The Center offers a set of twelve tutorials for learning how to do action research (interact tab provides more details). Each tutorial starts with a brief video introduction and then has a set of activities and resources to support them. There is also a workbook of templates for the set of action research activities that can be printed and distributed to students. These are offered to support the teaching or learning of action research and can be shared without cost or need for permission.
